HOW SAFE IS THAT BOTTLED WATER?

Some of this bottled water might be adulterated
In many parts of Lagos as well as other parts of the country, sights like this usually beholds you. You find all manners of bottled water being hawk at the various bus-stops. The issue here is the faking of popular brands.

I bought a bottled water at a BRT bus terminal at Oshodi  only to find out that it taste slightly bitter. Another bottle opened on a different occasion from a provision store along Osolo Way in Ajao Estate was found to contain so much sand which was discovered too late after drinking half of the content. To also imagine that it took place in the night.

The worst place to buy this killer product is in local restaurants. They seem to be collaborating with the fakers in marketing this poisons.

NAFDAC after the exit of Akunyili, seems to have gone into sleep with total neglect to their duties. It is really sad.

Next time you take that bottled water make sure it is purchased from the right source. My advise is this, if you noticed a bottled water looking oily and a bit cloudy that is one sign that the water is not healthy. I also observed  that fake bottled water have some of their caps looking dirty even when it can be seen to be sealed with tamper-proof nylon material. Others have their caps very difficult to open. This goes to show the type of amateur technique implored by the fakers. My advise is that one has to be careful before drinking.

My appeal is for those in authority to rise up to their constitutional role of  safeguarding the health of the citizens by enforcing our health laws.
